Eye Exercise (Contd.)



Eye Exercise 4 - Palming


This exercise is called "Palming". This can be done any time when you need to relax your eyes. You can do just this exercise if you do not have time to do the others mentioned in this section. Do this exercise when your eyes feel strained, look red or irritated, after looking at the computer screen, after watching TV, after reading or anytime when you are feeling stressed.

Very importantly, do this exercise to relax your eyes before going to bed. When we go to bed immediately after watching TV or reading something, our eyes stay in an unrelaxed state throughout our sleep which is not good for the eyes.

Here are the steps to do Palming:

  • (a) With your fingers touching each other, bend them so that you are making like little cups with your palms.


  • (b) Now cover your eyes, with left palm covering the left eye





    and right palm covering the right eye.



  • (c) Leave your eyes open and try to look at the darkness or black color. If you see any light, it means your fingers or palm is not curved in the right way.


  • (d) Continue looking at the blackness for 5 minutes.


  • (e) Your eyes will feel so relaxed when you remove your hands after this exercise.
