Do you feel you have not been blessed with as much as some of the others have been? Majority of the people feel that ways because we always compare ourselves with someone who has more than us, usually in possessions or intellectual ability. We should enjoy the blessings that are on our hand and in our life. We do not need to compare ourselves all the time with Bill Gates or Tom Cruise or Julia Roberts. I mean what percent of the world population is a celebrity or has all the riches, talent or looks? Insignificant, right? The rest of us are all average people of the world. That is perfectly fine; there is nothing wrong with it. Compare yourself with people of the world who are caught in war, hunger, natural disasters and calamities. Shouldn't we be more than content with our life now!
To be content with your life does not mean you should not have goals and ambitions and aspirations. The world will come to a standstill if no one wants or wishes for anything. What we need to do though is - we need to have a clear perspective of what
we want and why we want it. Let me give you an example. Say, you need a car to go to work. When you think of acquiring a car, do not forget that you need it as a reliable means of transport, you are not acquiring it as a mark of your social status. If you keep this perspective then, you will feel content.
