How to Handle Stress
Take a minute to reflect upon yourself!
- Ever felt stressed out like? You know it when it happens, we feel like pulling our hair out!
- How often do you feel stressed?
- List out what stresses you?
Suggestions:
- To prevent building a stressful maze for yourself
- Work on one thing at a time
- Don't try to resolve all problems at once
- Schedule your time realistically
- Always reserve a few minutes for yourself every now and then
- Pick out things that are basically beyond your control and dig into them to search for the hidden goodness
- Remember "every cloud has a silver lining".
- Anticipate possible outcomes. The rehearsal can help you perform more effectively and with less stress. Once you have the list, think of the worst that can happen if the worst was to really happen? This will help reduce the stress because you somewhat prepare yourself for the worst situation by listing it out.
- Accept the fact that we cannot control all the outside events in our life and these may be a major factor of stress. What we can do is that we can change how we handle them emotionally and psychologically. Be your own mentor and talk to yourself when feeling stressed. Engage in some activity when you feel entangled in the mind matrix. Exercise and relaxation is the easiest way to de-stress yourself. Start exercising and at the end of it, all that stress that was exploding your mind would have disappeared.
- When you are stressed, writing your thoughts and feelings in a personal diary, try talking to someone you close if you can. But exercise, meditation, focusing on breathing, soothes and calms the body down and relaxes the nerves and muscles. So I suggest you decide now what you will do next time when you feel stressed.
- Remember, you are your own boss, report to yourself and reward yourself if you followed through what you had decided.
